Owen MacWilliams- Director of Andrews Sport Conditioning
Andrews Hockey is extremely excited to add Owen MacWilliams as Director of Andrews Sport Conditioning. Originally from Summerside, PEI, Owen is a recent graduate from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Previously, Owen completed his Diploma of Kinesiology in the Sport & Leisure Management Program at Holland College in Charlottetown. While at Acadia, he worked as a senior intern with both the Men and Women’s Basketball and Men’s Football teams. He was also Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for Acadia Performance Training. Owen’s time at Acadia University afforded him the opportunity to broaden his skill set, allowing him to provide effective training to a diverse range of athletes, including hockey players of all ages and levels of ability.
Throughout his educational career Owen was a student athlete, playing varsity football for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, the Acadia Axemen and the Holland College Hurricanes. Owen also attended a CFL training camp as an aspiring Athlete. Owen has a certificate Certified Personal Trainer from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS).
Brad Mackenzie- Director of On-ice Program
Brad is the Executive Director of Andrews Hockey Growth Programs and will serve as the Director of On-ice Program for Andrews Sport Conditioning. Brad has an extensive Coaching Resume which recently includes two seasons as Assistant Coach with the Charlottetown Islanders in the QMJHL and two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the UPEI Panthers of USports. In 2012 Brad was among seven international students selected to attend the Vierumaki Sports Institute in Finland where he studied in the prestigious Sport & Leisure Management with Specialization in Ice Hockey Coaching Program. Brad received the Academic Consistency Award for the top student as well as the Leadership Award for his class. While in Finland Brad was also the Assistant Coach of the Vierumaki A-Jrs team and did work with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation. In the summer Brad works closely on the ice with many Junior and Professional athletes to provide high level skill development with a strong focus on Technical & Tactical Skating.
Josh Andrews- On-ice Skills Coach
Josh is the Director of Program Development and the Head of On Ice Instructor for Andrews Hockey. Josh attended the prestigious Lawrenceville School in New Jersey where he completed his high school education and competed on the school's hockey team. He then moved on to play Junior A Hockey with the Bancroft Hawks and the Hartford Junior Wolfpack. He also spent a year playing for NCAA Division III Lebanon Valley College. In 2006, Josh was one of a select few student-athletes chosen to attend Finland's Veirumaki Sports Institute. Josh holds a degree in Sport & Leisure Management from the school with a Minor in Hockey Coaching. In addition to his program at the storied school, he also coached in the Finnish Junior League and completed his thesis on Goal Scoring in the modern game. In 2008-09 he was an assistant coach for the University of Calgary Dinos Men's Hockey Team. Josh is a Certified High-Performance Level 1 Coach. In the 2009-2010 year, he was an assistant coach for the UPEI Women's hockey team.
Paul Drew- On-ice Goaltending Coach
Paul Drew joined Andrews Hockey as the Head Goaltending Instructor for the 2014 Summer. Paul was a professional goalie for the Dayton Bombers of the East Coast Hockey League. He also spent time in the West Coast Senior Hockey League and the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey. Before going professional, Paul played for the UPEI Panthers (AUS) and for the Plymouth Whalers where he posted the lowest GAA among all goalies in the Ontario Hockey League for three consecutive years. Paul has an extensive background working at goalie programs dating back to 1997. He is presently in his fourth year as the Goaltending Coach for the Charlottetown Islanders in the QMJHL and his third year with the Charlottetown Pride of the NB-PEI Major Midget League. Paul continues to innovate the way the goaltending position is played and trains many up and coming goaltenders through Andrews Hockey.
Jessica Snowdon- Trainer
Jessica serves as the Executive Director of Andrews Ringette International, which organizes ringette programs throughout Atlantic Canada. Jessica has a very long list of achievements and accolades including Bachelor of Kinesiology, Bachelor of Education (2017), Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Massage Therapist, 7 Canadian Ringette Championships, Represented Team Canada in Europe, National Ringette League Player (2010-2016), National First-Team All-Star, Canada Games Participant in 2007 and 2011. With an emphasis on fitness, fundamentals, as well as personal growth; Jessica coordinates clinics, leagues, tournaments, prep programs and much more across the Atlantic Canadian region!
